As you may be aware, the tackle height law changed on Sunday 1 August for the Age Grade game. The height has been lowered to below the armpit level. While this only affects the Age Grade game (U9 – U18s), it is good practice for all players, coaches and match officials to be aware of and promote throughout the game.
We have created resources to help you understand and familiarise yourself with the changes. Alongside this, we would also like remind you of Activate and Headcase and their importance in player welfare.
The free Tackle Safe eLearning course can be booked below and includes information on tackle law variations, safety in the tackle, coaching the Tackle and refereeing the tackle.
Video content to support your coaching and refereeing of the tackle can be found on our Keep Your Boots On YouTube channel below, with RugbySafe resources for further information on player welfare, including Headcase Concussion Awareness and the Activate Injury Prevention programme also available.
