Who’s the Ref website

All Societies use Who’s the Ref for appointments but the company is expanding what it can now offer us. Some of the additional services include:

• Providing the most up to date MOA forms and RC report forms
• An electronic version of club feedback cards
• An app (currently for Apple watches only) to help record details of games more easily: this already in use in some areas
• Working out relevant expenses on shared journeys
• Better support to Society Treasurers in collecting match fees from clubs

We need someone, in the first instance who is quite computer literate, to advise the Board on the detail of what is actually on offer, the value (or otherwise) of taking on these different offers and how best they should be introduced if taken on.

Kick off Times

You may have noticed the nights drawing in, and this weekend the clocks will go back 1 hour. This means that the standard Saturday afternoon kick-off time reverts to 2.15pm. Some fixtures on Who’s the Ref still show a 3pm kick-off, and some clubs fortunate enough to have floodlights (and enough 50p pieces for the meter!), may still wish to kick off at 3pm: please double check with the host club when they confirm your fixture.

“Game On” Principles

As availability of players varies, particularly for 2nd and 3rd teams, and Age Grade, please don’t forget the RFU’s ‘Game On’ principles, which allow variations in the law so that games can still take place even with fewer than 15 players.
