Friday bulletin 7/10: it’s a busy one this week!
Society Meeting
The next Society meeting will be on Thursday 13th October at Edwardians RFC, Memorial Ground, Streetsbrook Road, Solihull B90 3PE, at 7pm for a 7.30pm start
Subjects to be discussed include: Match Official Abuse – an update / Colts rugby issues / Electronic match cards / Points of Law, and any other relevant business.
Please make every effort to attend, so as not to miss out on important information.
Disciplinary Matters
Incidents of Match Official Abuse and disrespect continue to be reported and dealt with swiftly: one particular example is given here from another region:
Offence: A university coach disrespected the referee, and then refused to leave the playing enclosure when requested, shouting ‘well get the decisions right’ when asked to stop protesting. Sanction: 1 week prohibition from attending any rugby in any capacity (player, coach or spectator), and required to give presentation on core values to his club and specifically his team, with the recorded presentation / register of attendees provided to the RFU
Friday fun – Caption Competition!
Occasionally some good photos of our referees in action cross our desks, so we thought we’d invite you to come up with a witty caption for this photo: what’s the referee thinking/saying here? The most amusing will win a Premiership Cup refereeing top to add to your stash collection. Simply ‘leave a reply’ at the bottom of this bulletin, entries close at 7pm on 13 October.
