Some of you will know that discussions have been taking place between the Society and North Midlands regarding the provision of First Aid trained personnel at matches.
It must be stressed that this is first and foremost the club’s responsibility and any role the Society adopts is in support of the CB.
Provisionally, it had been agreed that referees will ask whether or not the club they were visiting had first aid personnel at the match. Failure would be reported to the Safeguarding Officer. This would be a fact finding mission on behalf of the CBs.
It was also agreed, again provisionally, that from next season non-compliance would mean that the referees is not allowed to let the game take place.
Clubs in the Greater Birmingham area have been contacted and told that commencing this Saturday (9th March) no trained first aid personnel at clubs would mean the game would not take place. This message is inaccurate.
Referees, from Saturday 9th March and to the end of the season, please notify me (by email) of any instances where it comes to your notice (maybe in conversation after the game) that the home club admits to not having First Aid trained staff.
If you decide that the game should not take place e.g. even the away side have no one suitable, please again let me know by email.
