Peter was lovely man who supported North Midlands greatly. He became an experienced watcher but at the same time supported North Midlands U19’s even touring Canada with them on one occasion. If pushed he could also be relied upon to run touch as well.

His commitment to the Society and rugby generally was evidenced every time he went to a game. He did not drive and he arrived at the remotest clubs on public transport.

He was fiercely intelligent studying maths at Cambridge University, whilst also being a real eccentric he was universally held in high regard and additionally was a fine cricket umpire. His habit of almost yodelling the word “over” meant he was soon known as the singing umpire.

If you wanted totally unvarnished help Peter was your man. He will be sadly missed on many cricket and rugby pitches across the country but will remain in our memories for a very long time.
