Weekly Bulletin – Summer Rugby

Hope you are all enjoying the great weather!

In this week’s bulletin I wanted to cover off Summer Rugby and the process the Society is taking around appointing fixtures along with a few other bits and pieces.

Fixtures

Where possible we would like clubs to put the fixture onto ‘WTR’ and the society will pick this up through the normal process we use during the season. Where a club contact does not have access to ‘WTR’ they can email into the society on our new address for Summer Appointments – summerappts@northmidsrefs.co.uk.

Vince Minto has kindly volunteered to manage Summer Appointments and will pick up requests sent to this email address adding it to ‘WTR’.

We will also pick up requests that come through the wider Facebook page.

Appointments

Appointments will be made through ‘WTR’ so please set your availability accordingly as you would throughout the season. Games will be allocated to an available referee with the notification being sent to the home club and the referee.

Please note that whilst the Society will manage the fixture through ‘WTR’ we will not pay expenses in the usual way. Clubs will not be invoiced during the summer nor will the Society pay expenses. These need to be confirmed with the home club either during confirmation of the fixture or on arrival at the club. We have suggested the standard 45p per mile but each club/referee may discuss separate arrangements regarding payment as needed.

If the fixture is cancelled or not confirmed please let Vince know using the email address above or contacting him through message / facebook etc.

With the end of the season fast approaching, we wanted to ensure before people disappear for a well-deserved summer rest, that you are all kept up to date with our match official specific plans for the rollout of resources for the RFU Tackle Height Domestic Law Variation.

As such we would like to invite you to join us online as we outline the Tackle Height Domestic Law Variation calendar and processes, on the following dates:

18.30 – 19.15 – Thursday 1st June 2023
19.00 – 19.45 – Monday 5th June 2023
