Development Squad 20-21 season

Applications are now being accepted for the NMSRFR Development Squad for the 2020/21 season, and will close on 19th July 2020. The development squad offers support, coaching and advice to referees who are prepared to make a commitment to developing their refereeing. The level you currently referee at is not important, it is only important that you wish to develop. The squad typically meet every 4-6 weeks to discuss skills and scenarios, and work through challenges they have faced in their own games. It is likely that some of these sessions will be online/via video call rather than in person for the coming season. Squad members have access to coaches and mentors from within the society, who will liaise with the grading/appointments team where relevant, to ensure appropriate opportunities are provided to progress. Members of the development squad should:

– have the ambition to referee three weeks out of every four (approximately), including the desire to go on exchange 

– be available for some Sunday Colts matches

– be available to prepare for and participate in squad discussion sessions, either in person or online – actively seek opportunities to develop themselves whether through working on fitness, watching other referees, or taking on additional appointments.
