The weekend of 12th and 13th September saw several clubs continuing the “longest pre-season” ever with some informal internal competitions using the RFUs Stage D guidelines, and several North Mids YMOs went along to Bridgnorth RFC on the Saturday and Stourbridge Rugby on the Sunday. They gained some good experience of ‘unusual rules’ (!), but adapted very quickly to the circumstances and dealt well with some difficult situations and potential flash points (some players found it hard to play within the definition of ‘social and friendly’…).
Thanks to Harriet, Dylan and Theo for their hard work in the sunshine, and to Tony, Rod, Lex, Huw and Julian for their support and advice. Also thanks to Theo’s mum for some great photos: click here to go to the YMO page where you can see lots more pictures from both days.
