Members’ meeting 7th February

Many thanks to those who attended the mid-season MOT’ meeting on 7th February, it was a good turnout. For those that were not able to make it, you can download and view our Training Director Neil’s slides here

Our next Training evening will be Online during w/c 06.03.23 ( probably on Tuesday 7th) and we hope to have a guest speaker. We are working on sessions for the next 12 months, at venues around our area, and these will include a mix of practical outdoor sessions, online and in person. The timetable of training sessions should be available at the AGM. Please let us know if you have any suggestions by emailing training@northmidsrefs.co.uk.

DBS Clarification

As outlined in last week’s bulletin, it is Society policy that all referees need to have a current DBS check, regardless of whether you ‘only’ referee adult rugby. If you have an RFU-approved DBS (for example via the club where you coach), this is acceptable to the Society. DBS checks for any other organisation, or which are not RFU-approved, you will need a separate Society DBS. For more information or to reapply for your DBS check please contact Rod Blaine immediately by clicking here.

Referee Kit

A confirmation that we now have a new kit supplier, and we are in the process of setting up a system where referees can order supplementary kit at a discounted price, most likely via a form on this website. New referees joining the Society will be given a shirt free of charge (t&c apply)

Match Official Development Roadshow

A reminder that the England Rugby Match Official Development Team are presenting a series of roadshows in order to connect with and hear from a wide variety of community level referees. In our region, the Roadshow will be at Stourbridge Rugby Club on Tuesday 28th March 2023. The event starts with food at 6pm, followed by an open session with the team.
