Next training session

If you were wondering when the next Training Session will be, then wonder no more…

It’s at 7pm for 7.15pm at Dudley Kingswinford RFC on Tuesday 7 February 2023. Come along for your ‘Mid-Season MOT’ when we’ll be talking about a great many things: whether referees have maintained the priorities set out at the start of the season; whether Reviewer/Developers are seeing any trends and if referees complete their section of the Review Forms ; what do the Match cards show? Is the breakdown being reffed differently ? Are Coaches seeing any changes in how they need to coach ?

We would like as many Referees , Coaches and Reviewer/Developers to come along to share their views and to make sure we are all consistent in our respective roles.

Put the date and time in your diary straightaway and we’ll see you in a couple of weeks.

Neil Chivers

Congratulations (or should that be ‘feliciations’) to Chivs for being selected as one of Wayne Barnes’ Assistant Referees in the EPCR Heineken Cup match on 13th January between Castres Olympique and Edinburgh.

RFU Tackle Height Change

Many of you will have seen details in the national press on the change in legal tackle height in community rugby, effective from 1 July 2023 (i.e for season 2023-4), and there has already been a great deal of comment in the media about the change. This change will be covered by future training and development sessions, once full guidance has been received from the RFU, so please be patient!
