Competition Rules in North Mids.

RFU REGULATION 16 – ADULT WOMEN COMPETITIONS

RFU REGULATION 16 – ADULT WOMEN COMPETITIONS (APPENDIX 1):

  • In Championship North & South, Championship 2 and National Challenge 1 and below, the maximum squad size is 22 players.
  • Uncontested scrums: During Championship North & South, Championship 2 and National Challenge 1 games, if in the event of a team being unable to field a suitably trained front row at the start of any match, the referee will order uncontested scrums and the team responsible for causing the uncontested scrum shall be deemed to have lost the match, but will not have a default awarded against them if they turn up to play the fixture
  • National Challenge 2 and below: Referee will order uncontested scrums and the result of the match shall stand

 

Cups:

North Mids. Cup (Lv. 5-6) 

  • Maximum squad of 18 players in non-final games, with minimum of four front row trained players.
  • Maximum squad of 22 players in a final, five front row players needed regardless of squad size.
  • If a team declares a need to go to uncontested scrums, they are not allowed (except in a case of blood replacement) to replace the player who caused the uncontested scrums. Results stand regardless.
  • In event of a draw (NON-FINAL), two periods of 10 minutes extra time follow. If still a draw, most tries, then most conversions, finally decided by AWAY team wins.
  • For FINAL, in case of a draw, most tries, then conversions, and if still drawing, winner is first team to score points, regardless of method.

 

North Mids. Shield (Lv. 7-8)

  • Maximum squad of 18 players in non-final games, with minimum of four front row trained players.
  • Maximum squad of 22 players in a final, five front row players needed regardless of squad size.
  • If a team declares a need to go to uncontested scrums, they are not allowed (except in a case of blood replacement) to replace the player who caused the uncontested scrums. Results stand regardless.
  • In event of a draw (NON-FINAL), two periods of 10 minutes extra time follow. If still a draw, most tries, then most conversions, finally decided by AWAY team wins.

  • Touch judges: – Both teams MUST provide a competent touch judge, who must not be a replacement or substitute.
  • Under 14s – 25 minutes each way playing time (size 4 ball)
  • Under 15s – 30 minutes each way playing time (size 5 ball)
  • Under 16s – 35 minutes each way playing time (size 5 ball)
  • Injury time: – Time should be added to playing time for stoppages due to injury, but NOT EXTRA TIME in the event of a draw.
  • Points Difference: – If the difference in scores exceeds 50 points the game MUST END and the RESULT STANDS
  • Drawn Matches: Winners will be determined by( except the final), Number of tries scored ,If these are equal the number of Conversions kicked .If these are  still equal the Team drawn AWAY will be awarded the tie even if the tie is played at the opposite venue
  • In the Final if tries and conversions are equal the trophy will be shared
